"The Story" layout

This might be my last layout share of the year. I recently went through my layout images in my computer folder and found that I've made over 110 pages this year. That makes my heart happy. All that stories documented for our family. How did you document your family's stories this year?

The following page was inspired by this prompt from the Sketch N Scrap blog

I didn't have two smaller photos for this page so I placed two 4x4 papers on the page first and then used that to house my four 2x3 photos.

I'm still in love with the large glittered word thickers from the Cedar Lane collection of Pink Paislee. I used the title "the story" since the event was about a reading program at my daughter's school.

I also used some gold photo corners and arrows to add more "shine" to the page.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you a healthy and happy New Year.

Till next time,
Grace

"Happy Pinewood Derby" layout

Today's layout was inspired by this sketch from the Sketch N Scrap blog

I liked the grid design but since I had small photos, I decided to put the photos off center on my 12x12 page. I also liked how the sketch gave me the idea of layering over multiple "frames" or blocks. It helped me do some fun layering with scraps and other papers that I've been holding onto for a while.

These images are from a fun scout activity for my son and so the huge "happy" glitter thickers from the Cedar Lane collection of Pink Paislee was perfect as my title.

I added some stars and glittered hearts cause, why not?

I used some small 2x2 blocks from a 4x4 Teresa Collins paper pad for my accent and journaling.

So I wanna know, what's your favorite way of adding journaling to your pages? Handwritten, typed, hidden?

Till next time,
Grace

"Happy Fall" layout

Hi there friends. How was your Christmas? Hope you had a great time with loved ones. After I made my family's traditional Christmas meals and capturing the excitement of opening presents, I was able to spend some time in my scrap space. The next three layouts were the result of this much needed "me" time.

This first layout was based off of a sketch from the ScrapMuch? blog

I actually flipped the sketch 180 degrees so I can set my long strip of smaller photos to the right and then use my horizontal 4x6 photo as my focal image in the page.

I used a bunch of scraps with this layout. I love it when I can make use of the small pieces of products that I "hoard".

The stickers and some of the "fall" accents are from the Carta Bella collection called "Fall Blessings". I'm not much into themed products but I do like them as it helps set the stage for my "event" pages.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week ahead.

Till next time,
Grace

"Palmer Park Hike" layout

Let me end off my "layout massive share" with a double page spread. It's a layout based off of a sketch from the Stick it down blog

and here's my take on it....
I really like how the sketch allows me to work it with the kinds of photos I have. It's not very set in stone and I can still work it with my existing projects.

and here are my close ups....

Thank you for stopping by.

"I will follow your lead" layout

It's me again. I hope you are not getting tired of all of my layout shares lately. I have always felt that my creating comes  in waves. Right now it's at a high level and I will take advantage of it before it tapers off. How does your creativity flow?

This latest layout was based off of a sketch from the Stick it down blog

A fun opportunity actually came up with my love for the Stick it down sketches. I was given the chance to be a part of their double page spread team. How fun is that?! So stay tune for some layouts using their sketches from me :)

I was still using my December homemade kit with this page so there's a lot of products that you have seen me use in the previous pages that I've shared.

This page is all about my feelings towards certain changes (good ones) happening in our family. The photo of my hubby looking off to the distance lent itself for a more "emotional" page.

These are some of the Chic Tag papers that I put into my kit.

The starburst cut is from my Silhouette Cameo and the star stickers are Heidi Swapp.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Till next time,
Grace

"Sweet Happy Moments" layout

Happy Monday friends. Today I'm sharing this layout and it was inspired by two challenges.
The first one is from the Picture this blog. The challenge was to use 3 photos + frames + Christmas trees+ Christmas colors. I used some papers from the Juniper Berry line of Basic Grey, frames from Freckled Fawn and some other items from my stash.

Over at Scrap our Stash blog their latest stash challenge was to use the letters from the word DIECUTS. I used the following:
D- Die cut banner stickers
I- Ink (white and grey)
E- Enamel dots
C- Cork frame, Circle letter stickers
U- Unity stamp (hello word)
T- True love collection from Basic Grey
S- Stamps (heart)

Here's my layout....

and here are some close ups...

"Happy Easter 2012" layout

I can't believe we are days away from Christmas. It feels like December just went by fast. How are you guys feeling about Christmas coming up at the end of this week?

This next layout is a double page spread (yehey!) and it was based off of a sketch from ScrapMuch? blog

I gotta say, i'm loving double page spreads lately. For some reason I'm super excited about them. I think it's a combination of being able to document events in my family and having a bigger canvas to create/play with.

I recently got the Heidi Swapp "happy" die and used it as part of my title. The title originally was cut out of just plain green cardstock and I felt like it needed some "umph" to stand out. So I cut out the same word from fun foam and then adhered it under the green cut out. It created my "diy" thickers title.

I like printing my photos small since I do them in batches and I don't ever know far in advance what kind of design I will be using for that specific layout. If I were to do it all over again, I would probably print these out a bit bigger, maybe 3x4 so that the photos had more real estate in my layout.

I had these white doiles but it was getting lost with the white flowers so I misted it red (Tattered Angels Candy apple)

I love these KI Memories stickers that I got at Tuesday Morning. They are so fun and makes for quick titles or subtitles.

This page is a cut apart sheet from a Christmas line from Basic Grey (Juniper Berry) but I wanted to use it as a journaling block on this Easter page. So I covered the Christmas sentiment on the top with my photo. No one will ever be the wiser (insert wink here)

So there you have it. Thanks again for stopping by.

Till next time,
Grace

"Bike Rodeo" layout

Happy Saturday dear friends. This latest layout is based off of the first December sketch at Stuck! sketches blog

I was also inspired by a certain color challenge at Scrapbook.com where we were to use holiday colors. I chose to do blue and white combo since it matched my son's scout uniform in the photos.

I created a homemade kit in the month of December and pulled some of the items from that kit to use in this page. I also rummaged through my growing pile of scraps to find blue papers to work with my white background.

This "lovely" sticker was from a stash of stickers I got from my pocket letters and I added it, along with a star and heart to create a visual triangle on my page.

This snap cut out is from a Teresa Collins 4x4 paper pad. I got it at the clearance section of JoAnns store a few months ago.

So there you have it. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a creative day.

Till next time,
Grace

"Love this" layout

Hello my dear friends. I hope that you are all well today. I just wanna give you a heads up that I have been on a creating "storm" lately and so I have a few pages that I will be sharing here on the blog in the next few days. My hope is that my layout shares will help you jumpstart your next project.

This first page is based off of a sketch from the Sketch N Scrap blog

Before this page, it had been close to three weeks since I last made anything and so I was a bit rusty. Looking back now, I could've done some things differently with this layout but I am still satisfied with it. By working through this page, I was able to get my "feet" wet again and back into creating.

The sketch called for two photos of the same size and orientation. I only had one vertical and one horizontal but I tried to make it work. The title is from a thickers pack from the Cedar Lane collection of Pink Paislee.

I thought this Chic tag paper was cool to add to this page and it worked with the theme.
I was initially going to handwrite my journaling in that tab but decided to print it out instead so I went through my flair badge collection and found this circle with the "our story" in it.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Till next time,
Grace
