"Today I'm grateful for you" layout

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends. I thought I'd pop in this blog and share a layout because...a. It's a page showcasing one of my blessings in life and b. It reminds me of how grateful I am for memory keeping and scrapbooking. Because of it, I am able to document my love for my family.

This layout was actually made in a class I attended at the Denver Scrapbook Expo. I tweaked the page a little bit to suite my photos and style. They were created with some new products from Pebbles Inc.

Here are some close ups...

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic holiday.

Till next time,

"Carlsbad Caverns" layout

I think we should just rename this blog....my love affair with sketches. What do you think? With my motivation to get stories and memories documented up to 2013, I have been relying a lot on sketches because they provide such great foundation to a page. I love that I can change up the orientation and sizes of my photos but still base it off of a blue print. Do you feel the same way? What do you guys love most about sketches?

Anyways these two that I'm about to share came from the latest sketches at Stick it down blog.

The first one is a double page sketch...

and here's my take on it...
I had way more photos for this event than the sketch provided so I made my title smaller but still made it span both pages. I based the colors scheme to the long sleeve shirt that I was wearing in the photos. I thought that was a good complimentary color to the otherwise neutral based colors on most of my photos.

I've been watching a lot of card tutorials on YouTube lately and one thing that I am inspired to do on my layouts lately is to pull out my punches and layer shapes. That's what I did with my title treatment. It got me to use up more papers, plus the layered circles framed my title stickers well.

I also made some homemade flags from paper and word strips.

I had waaay to many photos of this event so to document most of them, I made another page for this event but this time using the following sketch....

I liked how the two sketches helped me preserve this memory without having to create a whole mini album for it. I'm leaning more and more towards pages lately as my mini album basket is brimming to the top.

With this one I used the paper line Solstice from Pink Paislee.

I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the "hello Summer" word to give it a bit more shine. Sorry it doesn't show on the photo

Since I already did the journaling on the two page spread, I just added a travel quote on this one.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have  fantastic day.

Grace

"Hello Fun Adventure" layout

Happy Monday friends. I'm not sure how many of my blog readers also follow me on You Tube. If you haven't heard or seen my new series there, you might be interested in knowing that I created a four part series showcasing ideas for double page inspirations.

This page is actually #3 for this series. You can watch the first two on my YT channel. Link is on the side bar of this blog.

This page was also inspired by a challenge at Picture This! challenge blog. The challenge was..
Your choice of photos + Scraps+Die Cuts+ Buttons).
I used photos, scraps of paper, die cuts cut out from my Cameo (circle doilies and "hello" word) plus arrows from Scenic Route and wood buttons from Dear Lizzy.

You can watch the process video for this layout here...

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great week.

"Today is a gift" layout

Happy Thursday dear friends. I hope that you are enjoying this last few weeks of November and getting all pumped up about our upcoming Holiday season. By the way, what are your crafty goals this season? I plan on making a December daily and cranking out more pages before another year is over.

This next page was inspired by the following sketch from Scrapbook Challenges blog.

I got some new products from the "Illustrated Faith" brand and used that for this summer page. I thought the splatters on the transparency resembled water splashes.

I created a block of smaller photos instead of the two vertical ones that was placed on the sketch. I love how sketches help me build a structure for my page but at the same time allows me some freedom to work it within my story and pictures.

Those kites were premade ones bought at Michael's. I think they are a Recollections lines. The colors of yellow and turquoise matched some of the papers I used for this page.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day.

Till next time,
Grace

#Fun with Friends layout

Happy Tuesday dear friends. Today I'm sharing a layout inspired by the following sketch from Sketch N Scrap challenge blog.

I turned the sketch to it's side and instead of doing two horizontal pictures, I did one vertical and another strip of smaller photos on the bottom. I used my Oct/Nov. homemade kit for this layout.

Wanna see what I put in it? Here's a video of what I included in my scrapbook kit.

And here are some close ups of my page...

Thanks for stopping by.

"My Favorite Memories" layout

Happy Friday dear friends. Today I'm sharing an Autumn themed page with you with two challenges as my inspiration.

The first one is of this sketch from Stuck?! blog

and the second one is a stash challenge from Scrap our stash. The items on my page had to start with the following letters...
A- Autumn themed papers
L- Leaves
B- Border punch
U- Uniball white pen
M- Mist (Studio Calico)
S- Stamps (Gossamer Blue)

I got some "new to me" papers from Carta Bella and I used that to document the two older kiddos' costumes in 2013. I can't believe it was that long ago.

I had wanted to just play with some new buys so I grabbed all of the items for this page (not including the mist and pen) from my "new" bucket of supplies.

The sketch called for two square shaped photos but since I had both vertical and horizontal shaped images, I decided to put two photos in the center and then tuck the two other ones on both sides of the picture block.

I layered some flowers from Recollections onto a pre made Polaroid frame accent from a Pebbles line.

I have this small stamp set from Gossamer Blue and used two of them here. One as part of my title and the other to hand write my date. I heat embossed both with white powder to make them stand out against the dark color scheme of my papers.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Till next time,
Grace

"Too Close to home" layout

Hi there dear friends. Just a little heads up, if you are not a follower of mine in You Tube, I am currently doing a double page spread series in my channel. You can click the direct link on the right side of this blog for more information. I am going to post a new video every Monday for the next four weeks (it actually started this past Monday).

So onto the sketch inspiration and layout this week. I loved this sketch from Paper Issues. I love the triangles pointing towards the center of the layout.

And here's my take on it...

This is the process video that goes along with this...

And here are some more close ups....

I love you more than candy layout

I love this sketch from the My Creative Sketches blog. The thing is I had two 4x6 photos so my page seemed a bit more busy than the original sketch.

I used some October homemade kit again. Still loving that kit and I hope to get it done sometime this week. I love the layering inspiration provided by the sketch. I wanted to use this 4x6 project life card but didn't have enough room on the top for it so I cut it, leaving the prompt on the top for my title and the rest of the card on the bottom of my horizontal photo.

Here are some more close ups...

Thank you for stopping by and I hope my layout inspired you to document something today.

Hello Lovely layout

Happy Monday my dear crafty friends. This layout was originally made with last month's challenge from Picture This! challenge blog. However, I was late with getting it posted so I never got a chance to submit it. I still wanted to share it so here it is.

The challenge called for some stamping, more than one photo and chipboard. I used some word stamps to add to the layout, chipboard button and there's three photos in this page.

I actually used my September homemade kit with this layout and I created my own background paper with some letter stickers scraps.

Here are some more close ups...

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend.

Till next time,
Grace
