Twist Card Trio

Hi all. Today's post is a card share featuring the new TWIST cardstock line from WorldWin Papers. This is an interesting set of papers. It is sturdy which is perfect for any crafty project and there's a bonus....it has a textured side. It feels fuzzy, like a combination of cardstock and mulberry papers. So cool! Here's what I made with it....

We were challenged to use some photos in our cards. I was extra grateful for the challenge cause I was able to use up some extra photos. Back in the day, I used to print smaller photos in wallet sizes which meant that I get four prints of one photo. I would only use one for my pages but kept the other prints because, well, I just can't toss a photo away! And now I found a use for them.

here's some more close ups of the cards......
I used some photos of hubby infront of the Queen Mary for this travel/wish you were here card. I made this card a 6.25x 6.25 size.

(card size- 5 x 7")
I love these photos of my then 4 year old son. How I miss his chubby cheeks! With this card, I went simple putting emphasis on the photos and adding a fun die cut sun that I cut from the Cricut machine. Yes, these cardstocks might be sturdy and texturized but it can still go through the Cricut machine which for me is a double plus!!!

(card size- 4.25 x 5.5)
and this last card combined some die cutting techniques and stamping. I love how the colors makes this card exude the tropics. Don't you think?

So that's it. To learn more about this line and all the othe products that WorldWin offers, make sure you check their site out here.

Field trip to the Fire Station

Valentine's day happen to fall on a Tuesday this year and that meant that Marcus had Cub Scouts. But it was an extra fun meeting because the boys, along with their families, got to visit a local Fire Station. Maddie and I got to tag along on this trip (Mitch had a meeting to attend) and I brought my camera to capture the experience. All of us have never been stepped foot in a Fire Station before so I wanted to document the event. Here are some of the photos I got....if you've read my blog before, you know that I don't like to post photos of other kids in my blog without their parent's permission so the following photos have more things than people. :)

the boys sure had many questions for the Fire Fighters and the generous men answered every question, even if sometimes it was a little silly.

We learned the difference between a Fire engine and truck. We also got to see where the fire fighters eat and sleep when they're on shift.

I feel so blessed to live in an area where Fire Fighters are easily accessible and they are fully equipped and trained to help.

We even got a little demonstration on how the fighters put on their gear. They are expected to put on the shoes and clothes in less than 90 second. The whole night was truly interesting.

So that's our most recent field trip. We've been plagued by cold and snowy weather this past two weekends so we haven't really gone anywhere to explore. I'm sooo looking forward to some Spring time weather soon.

Till next time,
Grace

Creative Memories Projects

Happy Thursday everyone.
I just recently got some projects back from Creative Memories headquarters and that means that I can finally share them on my blog. :)

HOME
With this page, I featured the fun black shimmer cardstock. I used them for photo corners, tags for my title and used the Cricut machine to cout out flourish accents.

Supply List:

Brown Cardstock

Midnight Shimmer Cardstock

Shine Paper and Photo Mat Pack

Divine Power Palette Paper Flowers

Divine Power Palette Epoxy circle stickers

Fabulous Power Palette Paper Flowers

Reminisce Accents Cricut Die cut cartridge

12-inch Rotary Trimmer

Deckle Rotary Blade

Corner Maker

Square Maker

Tag Maker

White Simple Monogram Stickers

Border Maker System

Scallop Stitch Border Maker Cartridge

Tape Runner

Foam Squares

I had way too many photos of this specific layout so I made a pocket to house the rest of them.

Showered with Love
In this page, I highlighted the new Cricut Cartridge called Divine. It's so fabulous! My favorite would be my title. Fit perfectly with my story about last year's Valentine's day. I had an implant surgery for one of my tooth, hence the photo of medications. But despite being on pain killers most of the day, my dear husband still "showered" me with love and Valentine goodies like flowers, a card and chocolates. He's such a sweetheart!

Supply List:

White Cardstock

Red Cardstock

Grey Divine Power Storybox paper

Fabulous 12x12 Power® Palette System

Divine Power Epoxy circle stickers

Divine Wedding Cricut Die cut cartridge

Border Maker System

Scallop Stitch Border Maker Cartridge

Black Dual-tip pen

Tape Runner

Foam Squares

I love how layering the Cricut cuts creates dimension with my images. I layered the hearts with foam adhesive to create more dimension.

Make sure you check out the Project Center of Creative Memories for more "eye candy".

Thank you for stopping by.

Paper Bakery Kit Feb. sketch #2

Hello and Happy President's day. I am planning on enjoying this day with some low key activities with the family. We all need to relax after what seemed to be a very busy week last week.

But before I "enjoy" my day off, let me share with you the latest sketch today over at the Paper Bakery kit blog.....

I went with a card sketch this time since the first one this month was a layout. I also opted for a "love" theme since it's February.

here's a peek at the cards I made using the sketch. You can see the full view of the cards in the PBK blog here.

Enjoy your day and tomorrow I have my Project 365 update and it's a loooonnnggg one. :)

Glue Arts Valentine projects

I know Valentine's have come and went but I made some "lovely" Valentine themed projects for Glue Arts that I think is worth revisiting here at the blog, even if you are tired of all the reds and hearts!

Vellum Treat Pockets
With this project I used some U cut it foam to give dimension to my homemade treat containers. I also made a tutorial for this project on the Glue Arts blog here.

Another assignment that we were given was to make something as a Valentine gift to someone to "show our love for them". We were also given the added task that this project needs to be used even after the holiday. I chose to make a coupon booklet for my hubby. I love coupon books because you can personalize the types of coupons your recipient will get which shows how much you really know and love them plus it can be 'redeemed' way after the holiday is over.

Especially for you coupon book
You can see more photos of this and a tutorial as well on this blog post.

Now I'm off to help out with a youth fundraiser. They are trying to earn money for camp with a dinner/dance activity for couples in our church. As part of the youth leadership, I'm helping out. But I also paid so I plan on enjoying a dinner date with hubby minus the kiddos. :)

At this Moment layout (Ella Publishing)

I remember when I started scrapbooking and I only had a handful of products and tools to work with and I get frustrated sometimes because I cannot get the result I had envisioned my pages to look like. Fast forward to today and I don't really know how much "stuff I use regularly to make pages till I do challenges like the one I recently did for Ella Publishing which is to make a layout with ONLY 8 PRODUCTS TO USE!

Let me tell you that was a hard "pill to swallow" for this 'layer it up' girl! But I managed (whew!) and my blog post is up today here.

Here's a look at what I made with the Eight is Enough challenge....

At this moment

and because I was super careful at how I use up the products, I had a few leftovers which I made into a card....
Pulled out for publication

Please visit Ella Publishing to check out my blog post (comment too to let me know how I did on my first official post there) and then go check out the Eight is Enough Ebook which has tons of ideas on how to maximize products and produce great looking pages with just eight items.

Happy Thursday.

Grace
